Julie Rhee made a big difference in the shade garden and was joined by Carol Harcharik after Carol finished helping Roxanne Moye in the butterfly habitat. Lois Maynard has the Memorial bed looking professional and now the heather bed has joined those ranks. Carol Johnson has populated the sedum bed with hens and chicks. Does that mean there will be eggs soon?
Tim Bower has added green to the compost bin, getting it back into working shape, and Bob McBride has changed out the borders on several of the raised beds. We can’t have him often—he is constantly traveling—but he really revs up the effort when he is with us.
John Mikesell pulled ivy and weeds along the native plant trail and put sand on the more slippery areas of the walkway in anticipation of showing it off to visitors.
