Busy at the Garden

Lorraine Butler cleared out the herb bed, cutting back some, thinning, dividing and potting up others for the plant sale. Suzanne Holland and Dorene Fretwell meticulously cleared the cover crop from around the garlic that was valiantly sending up shoots. Dorene also prepared the dahlia bed for planting and checked on the viability of the dahlia tubers. It appears we will have more than enough. Tiffany Wilfert put fertilizer in the annual beds in preparation for planting when and if it gets warmer, and then started spiffying up the whimsy bed. Jim Rodman was busy planting Swiss chard, 2 kinds of beets and 2 kinds of radishes (Daikon and a standard). He had such fabulous luck last year; I can’t wait to see how he does this year. He also brought in the clinic boxes.
