Our Shady Ladies—Julie Rhee, Carol Harcharik and Debra Hall--- thinned, weeded and divided, while other Sunny Souls–Judith Martin and Rosemary Long—followed suit in the English part of our world. One of our cutups, John Mikesell, pruned the yellow twig dogwood on the perimeter—I think he left the Nooka rose to its own prickly self. Fellow cutup Ray Etheredge did what he loves to do most—he gave Anne and Craig Anderson excellent instructions with valuable hints on caring for the espalier apple. I believe Ray has ulterior motives but I did hear Craig mention having a chain saw.
