Third-grade teacher Anna Smith and her Tracyton Elementary School Class of '57 (or '58) - Courtesy of Lee Derror (that's her in the front row next to Ms. Smith). Anna Smith and her husband John donated their property for a children's park in Kitsap County, which hosts the County's first WSU Master Gardener Demonstration Garden.
Anna Smith Children's Park
The park, located on Tracyton Boulevard at the intersection of Fairgrounds Road, features a pond, WSU Master Gardener's demonstration garden with a butterfly garden green house, a wide grassy area, picnic tables, and 200-foot stretch of beach.
We Need Donations for the Butterfly House
We need donations for the hanging baskets in the Butterfly House!
Attached here is Carol’s general list of butterfly plants – You’ll want to focus on those suitable for baskets like small marigolds, dwarf zinnias, verbenas, lobelia, lobelia, lobelia and red clover. Bright yellows, red, pinks and purples are their favorites. All donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
